FUNDRAISING

In the 2007 financial year, in excess of £24000 was raised by the club. All funds raised or donated by members of the public are used for charitable purposes.

RECENT EVENTS

In October we had a street collection in Chichester in aid of the Chestnut Tree childrens hospice in Arundel. Over £500 was donated on the day and with additional donations from Lions clubs in the locat area we raised a total of £900 for the Hospice.

The annual model railway exhibition had a record public attendance. This annual event appeals to a broad cross section of the public, young children , senior citizens, adults and teenagers alike find entertainment in a variety of displays and hands-on layouts.

Once again the annual carol float collection was a great success, raising over £5000 for our welfare funds

Lions were back on the street collecting on St Davids day on behalf of Marie Curie. This collection is an important fundraising day for this vital Cancer care charity and Lions clubs across the country assist with the street collections.

Our Easter egg raffles raised £500 for the Sussex Snowdrop appeal

Our president, Tony Harrison, was chauffeur to the junior mayor and his entourage as they fulfilled their programme of duties round Chichester accompanied by Mayor Ray Brown.

Members helped the charity Save the Children with their street collection

Members and their wives were stewards at the festival of flowers in Chichester cathedral.

We had our market stall at the Goodwood air display - unfortunately the Monday bank holiday event was rained off.

Lions were walking on behalf of the local branch of Samaritans round Goodwood and raised £200.

The lions minibus accompanied by Roary the lion and his helpers participated in the Chichester gala parade, raising money for the mayor's charity.

Our market stall has made two outings in July 2008, raising over £400 from sale of sunglasses and other fundraising activities.

Lions were in the centre of Chichester to assist with the Macmillan Nurses flag day.
