Model Railway Exhibition - October 24th 2009
The Lions Club of Chichester's Annual Model Railway Exhibition will be in the spacious Main Hall and Gym of Chichester High School for boys, Kingsham Lane, Chichester - Map

Exhibits booked include:
Hornby Dublo 3-rail layouts Expressively Eastern (Chris Cheney) and Just More Fun (Trevor Edwards) on which enthusiasts of all ages will be able to drive the trains, operate the Travelling Post Office equipment, and run their own locos;
Circa 1959 (Roger Skinner) also in Dublo
Hornby 0-gauge clockwork (John Hollands)
3-rail; Trix Twin layout (David Holmes); Happy Days (John Reeves) also in Trix Twin;
The Tramway Arms in 1:16th scale (Simon Cole);
Minic Motorway and Triang Super 4 in 2-rail 00 (Bob Leggett)
Bigger Trains shown by Chichester and District Society of Model Engineers; and
Modelling demonstrations (Frank Welland and the Guildford Friends).
Bognor Regis Model Railway Club have promised their usual variety of layouts (at least three, but un-named at the time of going to press) and Barry and Shelley Thomas of Romsey will present one of their delightful N-gauge creations.
Rides in the car-park will be offered by Phil Dyson’s 4”-scale traction engine and trailers; Martin Edwards 5”-gauge
live steam portable railway is also expected.
Glen Butler of specialist
vintage toys auctioneers, Wallis & Wallis (Lewes), is expected to be
on hand to value any old toys you may have unearthed, and which Glen can arrange
to sell for you.
Traders booked include Trains
and Boats and Planes (Bognor Regis), Lord & Butler (Cardiff),
Modern
Models (Surrey), and Englefield’s
Emporium (Selsey). Two others who attended last year are expected to
return.
Southdowns
Light Railway Society will be present, as will Tal -y-Llyn RPS. Another
narrow-gauge preservation society is also expected. There will be static
displays, and refreshments. Prizes can be won for the games and competitions
during the day. Car parking is convenient and free with plenty of spaces, and
there is easy access (no steps) for disabled people. The school hall is only a
short walk from Chichester railway and bus stations.
